Softball Game Preview: Goliad Tigers vs. Stockdale Brahmas

Goliad is a perfect 4-0 against Stockdale since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Tigers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Brahmas at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Goliad has seven straight victories, Stockdale has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, Goliad needed a bit of extra time to put away Karnes City. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Badgers. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by eight runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Stockdale came up short against Poth on Friday, falling 12-5.

Goliad's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-4. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Stockdale, their loss dropped their record down to 3-14.

Everything went Goliad's way against Stockdale in their previous meeting back in February of 2022, as Goliad made off with a 9-0 win. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Brahmas have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
