Baseball Recap: Holy Ghost Prep Takes a Loss

After flying high against La Salle College on Friday, Holy Ghost Prep came back down to earth. The Firebirds fell 9-5 to the Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic Friars/Pandas on Saturday. If the Firebirds were looking for revenge after losing 11-2 to the Friars/Pandas when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Holy Ghost Prep got a good showing from Christopher Schnauffer, who pitched 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those zero hits allowed gave Schnauffer a new career-low.

At the plate, Eddie Rosado was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Holy Ghost Prep's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

Looking ahead, Holy Ghost Prep is taking a road trip to face off against Archbishop Wood at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Monsignor Bonner/Archbishop Prendergast Catholic, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Roman Catholic at 4:00 p.m. The Friars/Pandas are facing the Cahillite at the right time seeing as the Cahillite are stuck on an eight-game losing streak.
