Baseball Game Preview: Christian Brothers Academy Brothers vs. Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks

The Christian Brothers Academy Brothers will square off against the Saratoga Springs Blue Streaks at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. Christian Brothers Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Saratoga Springs' hitters will have their work cut out for them.

On Saturday, Christian Brothers Academy came up short against Arlington and fell 6-1. The Brothers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Saratoga Springs ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Shaker 4-3. The Blue Streaks haven't had any issues with the Bison recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Brendan Kantscheidt tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 6.2 innings pitched.

On the hitting side, Cooper Villiere was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double.

Saratoga Springs now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Christian Brothers Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-3.

The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Christian Brothers Academy has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Saratoga Springs struggles in that department as they've been averaging 7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.

Christian Brothers Academy couldn't quite get it done against Saratoga Springs in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 as they fell 9-6. Can the Brothers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
