Basketball Game Preview: Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines vs. Menahga Braves

Wadena-Deer Creek is 1-9 against Menahga since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Wadena-Deer Creek Wolverines will challenge the Menahga Braves at 7:30 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Last Tuesday, Wadena-Deer Creek humbled Pillager with a 62-26 victory. The victory continues a trend for the Wolverines in their matchups with the Huskies: they've now won seven in a row.

Meanwhile, everything came up roses for Menahga against Sebeka on Tuesday as the team secured a 69-36 win. Given the Braves' advantage in MaxPreps' Minnesota basketball rankings (they are ranked 63rd, while the Trojans are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wadena-Deer Creek's record is now 16-8. As for Menahga, their record is now 21-4.

Wadena-Deer Creek came up short against Menahga when the teams last played back in January, falling 53-45. Can Wadena-Deer Creek avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
