Basketball Recap: West Seneca East Takes a Loss

West Seneca East played a tough game on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 63-36 loss at the hands of the Iroquois Redhawks . The Trojans were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-10.

West Seneca East's loss came despite strong showings from Melanie Marcezin and Hailey Alba. Marcezin posted ten points in addition to eight boards and three steals, while Alba went 5 for 10 to rack up 12 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Alba a new career-high in blocks.

This is the second loss in a row for West Seneca East and nudges their season record down to 6-9. As for Iroquois, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Seneca East will face off against Lake Shore at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Iroquois, they will square off against West Seneca West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
