Averill Park had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Columbia Blue Devils, sneaking past 4-2. This was payback for the Warriors, who suffered an 8-6 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Averill Park's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Columbia, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
