Football Game Preview: Luella Lions vs. Riverdale Raiders + How To Watch

For the first time this season, Luella will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. After each having a week off, they and the Riverdale Raiders will shake off the rust and duke it out at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Neither Luella nor Riverdale posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

Luella will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Starr's Mill, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Lions slipped by the Panthers 7-6 two weeks ago. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Lions.

Luella didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Markel Aguirre. Another thorn in Starr's Mill's side was Sean Troutt, who picked up a sack and made eight total tackles.

Meanwhile, Riverdale was not able to break out of their rough patch two weeks ago as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. The contest between Riverdale and Redan didn't end well, with Riverdale falling 20-6.

Riverdale's defeat dropped their record down to 1-4. As for Luella, the win got them back to even at 2-2.

Luella beat Riverdale 14-6 when the teams last played back in September of 2024. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
