Basketball Recap: Phillipsburg Starts off Right with Win over Oakley

Phillipsburg had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They strolled past the Oakley Plainsmen with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 58-44. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Panthers also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.

Several Plainsmen players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Easton Fink, who posted nine points and four steals. Another player making a difference was Jonah Kuhlman, who put up 11 points and six rebounds.

Phillipsburg didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-34 loss against Central Plains on the 10th. As for Oakley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 51-50 defeat against Quinter on the 10th.
