Baseball Recap: Providence's Loss Ends Four-Game Winning Streak at Home

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Providence finally came back down to earth on Saturday. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Golden Valley Grizzlies. The contest marked the Pioneers' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Providence saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Contreras, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Providence's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-3. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 12.2 runs. As for Golden Valley, their win ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-3.

Looking ahead, Providence will venture away from home to square off against Beverly Hills at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Golden Valley, they will host Vasquez at 3:15 p.m. on Monday.
