Football Game Preview: V.R. Eaton Eagles vs. Timber Creek Falcons + How To Watch

The V.R. Eaton Eagles will head out on the road to challenge the Timber Creek Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for V.R. Eaton and seven for Timber Creek.

V.R. Eaton fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Trinity on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They and the Trojans were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered a 24-23 defeat. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Trojans are ranked 38th).

Meanwhile, Timber Creek scored the most points they've had this season on Thursday, but it wasn't enough. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 37-36 to Keller. The Falcons gained 55 more yards on the day, but it was the Indians that made the best use of them.

V.R. Eaton will have to keep a close watch on Hudson Howard and Trey Hopkins, a pair of players who had a big impact on Timber Creek's prior game. Howard picked up 86 receiving yards and one TD, while Hopkins rushed for 56 yards and one touchdown.

Timber Creek's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for V.R. Eaton, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.

V.R. Eaton didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Timber Creek when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but they still walked away with a 24-18 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
