Softball Recap: East Beats Skyline for Their Fifth Straight Victory

East had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Wednesday. They beat the Skyline Eagles by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 16-6. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 12-6 last Wednesday.

Liily Maughan was a standout: she got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Taya Taylor was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

East was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in eight consecutive games.

East's win bumped their record up to 17-10. As for Skyline, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 11-17.

East wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 13-11 defeat against Bonneville on the 10th. As for Skyline, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 15-5 loss against Cedar Valley on the 10th.
