Football Recap: Northfield Piles Up the Points Against Thomas Jefferson

While Northfield put up plenty of points on Saturday, the same can't be said for Thomas Jefferson. The Nighthawks simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Spartans 52-0. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Nighthawks had established a 32-point advantage.

Northfield didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off nine passes before the game was over. Caroline Cummings led the group effort, picking up three of those interceptions all by herself. Julianne Heilner got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

The victory was the third in a row for Northfield, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Northfield will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Rangeview at 4:30 p.m. on September 3. As for Thomas Jefferson, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 6-0 victory against Non Varsity Opponent on the 25th.
