Softball Recap: Sissonville Picks Up Sixth Consecutive Win

Sissonville waltzed into their game on Monday with five straight wins... but they left with six. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Poca Dots an 18-0 shutout. The Indians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 12 contests by six runs or more this season.

Jaidyn Taylor was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Taylor was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Lydia Ellis was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, six RBI, and three runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Makenna Parcell, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four RBI and one run.

Sissonville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .471. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .389 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Sissonville's record now sits at 17-3. As for Poca, their loss dropped their record down to 1-14.

Coming up, Sissonville will venture away from home to face off against Logan at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wildcats' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Indians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Poca, they will be playing at home against Ritchie County at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
