Basketball Game Preview: Harlan Cyclones vs. Denison-Schleswig Monarchs

Harlan and Denison-Schleswig are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2020, but not for long. The Harlan Cyclones will be playing in front of their home fans against the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Harlan and 13 for Denison-Schleswig dating back to last season.

Last Saturday, Harlan ended up a good deal behind Underwood and lost 58-44.

Meanwhile, Denison-Schleswig came up short against St. Albert on Friday and fell 58-46. While losing is never fun, the Monarchs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 307th, while the Falcons are ranked 119th).

Harlan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Denison-Schleswig, their loss dropped their record down to 0-12.

Harlan didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Denison-Schleswig in their previous matchup on January 2nd, but they still walked away with a 57-51 victory. Will Harlan repeat their success, or does Denison-Schleswig have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
