Softball Recap: Baker County Extends Winning Streak to 16

Baker County put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past the Paxon School For Advanced Studies Golden Eagles 2-0. The two-run effort marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Not much got past Grace Masterson, who gave up just six hits and racked up ten Ks to keep Paxon School For Advanced Studies off the board. Masterson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Chloe Johnson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI.

Baker County's victory bumped their record up to 16-0. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Coming up, Baker County will square off against Foundation Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Paxon School For Advanced Studies, they will take on Episcopal School of Jacksonville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Golden Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Eagles have averaged an impressive 9.8 runs per game this season.
