Basketball Recap: Sports Leadership & Management vs. Mater Brickell Academy Bulls
Sports Leadership & Management had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They put the hurt on Mater Brickell Academy with a sharp 69-44 win on Wednesday. The victory was just what Sports Leadership & Management needed coming off of a 67-32 defeat in their prior match.
Sports Leadership & Management's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jason Morris, who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and three steals. Orlando Ortega was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
The win got Sports Leadership & Management back to even at 11-11. As for Mater Brickell Academy, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-11.
Sports Leadership & Management has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Makos at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd. MAST Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 676th, while the are ranked 278th). Mater Brickell Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
