Baseball Recap: Hillsboro Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against West, Hillsboro was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Connally Cadets. The win was some much needed relief for the Eagles as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Trevor Clark was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-1. Another player making a difference was Daniel Ortiz, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Hillsboro was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. The last time their batting average was this high was back in February of 2024.

Hillsboro's record is now 2-4. As for Connally, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Looking ahead, Hillsboro will take on Bishop Reicher Catholic in a tournament on Friday. Connally will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Florence at 7:00 p.m. on March 14th.
