Basketball Recap: Decatur Gets the Win

Decatur won the last time they faced Pocomoke, and Maleah Blake did her part to make sure it happened again. The Decatur Seahawks claimed a resounding 69-28 win over the Pocomoke Warriors thanks in part to Blake, who went 6 for 12 en route to 16 points along with seven steals and six assists. Blake is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least two every time she's taken the court this season.

Paityn Tyre was another key player, putting up nine points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in blocks (two).

Despite the loss, Pocomoke still got an impressive performance from Donyae Washington, who posted eight points and 13 boards. Another player making a difference was Maddie Esham, who scored seven points.

Decatur's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Pocomoke, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-7.

Decatur has already played their next match, an 80-15 win against Washington on the 31st. As for Pocomoke, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 40-34 victory against Mardela on the 29th.
