Basketball Recap: Charlottesville Extends Home Winning Streak to 25

Charlottesville came tearing into Saturday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 42.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Handley Judges, sneaking past 58-55. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Black Knights have posted since December 28, 2023.

Charlottesville pushed their record up to 13-2 with the victory, which was their 25th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.6 points per game. As for Handley, they moved to 11-2 with that loss, which also ended their seven-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlottesville will head out to face off against George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Charlottesville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully George Washington likes a good challenge. As for Handley, they will venture away from home to challenge Millbrook at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
