Volleyball Recap: Lee's Summit Comes Up Short

If Lee's Summit was riding high fresh off their 3-0 takedown of Raymore-Peculiar last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tigers came up short against the Lee's Summit West Titans on Wednesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Titans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-0 back in March.

While Lee's Summit ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 18 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-21, 25-18, 25-19.

Karsten Fiene paced Lee's Summit's offense, picking up ten kills. Fiene got some help from Jayden Holstrom and his 23 assists. Garrett McMillin controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Lee's Summit's defeat dropped their record down to 9-6. As for Lee's Summit West, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 14-4-1.

Lee's Summit wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Lee's Summit North on the 17th. As for Lee's Summit West, they have also already played their next matchup, a 3-2 win against Staley on the 17th.
