Soccer Recap: Cypress Comes Up Short

Cypress managed to keep up with El Dorado until halftime on Monday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Cypress Centurions came up short against the El Dorado Golden Hawks, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Centurions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 750th, while the Golden Hawks are ranked 349th).

Cypress has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6-1 record this season. As for El Dorado, the win got them back to even at 4-4-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cypress will take on Pacifica at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Pacifica will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Cypress surely won't give up without a fight. As for El Dorado, they will face off against Sunny Hills at 3:00 p.m. on January 8, 2025.
