The Shadow Mountain Matadors can finally bid farewell to their 12-game losing streak dating back to last season thanks to their game on Saturday. They secured a 53-48 W over Greenway. That 53-48 margin sets a new team best for Shadow Mountain this season.

It was another big night for Pierce Rogers, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Shadow Mountain's points. Another player making a difference was Joey Meyn, who scored ten points along with eight rebounds and five assists.

Shadow Mountain's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-9. As for Greenway, their defeat was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-11.

After both having extra time off, Shadow Mountain and Thunderbird will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024. Greenway will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Poston Butte at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024. Poston Butte is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last three games.
