Softball Recap: Wayne Comes Up Short

Wayne had lost ten straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Monday they dropped their record down to 1-6 to make it 11. They fell just short of the Beavercreek Beavers by a score of 6-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Beavers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 17-5 on Thursday.

As for Beavercreek, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 7-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 22nd.

For Beavercreek's part, the team relied heavily on Brylee Greene, who went 2-for-3 with two triples and three runs. Those two triples gave Greene a new career-high.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Wayne will face off against rival Springfield at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Beavercreek is set to take on their familiar foe Fairmont at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
