Basketball Recap: Grissom Triumphs

Grissom posted their closest victory since December 26, 2024 on Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Booneville Blue Devils 50-47.

Grissom found their leader in sophomore Sydney Brown, who posted 24 points. Those 24 points set a new season-high mark for Brown. Another player making a difference was Jaycen Edwards, who earned ten points and eight boards.

Grissom is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points over those games. Having lost for the first time this season, Booneville fell to 5-1.

Grissom didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 46-44 win against Athens on the 2nd. As for Booneville, they have also already played their next game, a 62-43 victory against New Hope on the 2nd.
