Preview: Ellsworth Lancers vs. Wolverine Wildcats

Ellsworth has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Wolverine Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Ellsworth focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Monday.

Last Monday, Ellsworth was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 45-44 to St. Mary Cathedral.

Ellsworth's loss came about despite a quality game from Patrick Puroll, who scored 12 points along with six assists and six rebounds. Puroll has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Evincio LaCount, who scored 17 points.

Wolverine can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They strolled past North Michigan Christian Academy with points to spare, taking the game 69-53. Wolverine's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Ellsworth's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-10. As for Wolverine, their victory bumped their record up to 3-8.

Ellsworth strolled past Wolverine when the teams last played last Tuesday by a score of 63-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ellsworth since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
