Baseball Game Preview: Pleasant Home Eagles vs. Paxton Bobcats

The Pleasant Home Eagles will face off against the Paxton Bobcats at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Pleasant Home has now lost 12 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since February 21.

Pleasant Home came up short against Florala on Thursday, falling 12-2.

Meanwhile, Paxton came up short against Baker on Friday and fell 14-9.

Colby Vaiyanet made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Paxton is 5-2 when Vaiyanet posts two or more runs, but 3-4 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Trevor Varnum, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with three RBI and one stolen base.

Pleasant Home's defeat dropped their record down to 1-12. As for Paxton, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Pleasant Home has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Paxton struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
