Softball Recap: East Hamilton Triumphs

While East Hamilton's win against Bradley Central wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Hurricanes skirted past the Bears 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Hurricanes have posted since March 21st.

Yulai Woodruff spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on three hits and racked up 11 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Jada Rutley, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March. Katherine Woody also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

East Hamilton's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Bradley Central, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-12-1.

Coming up, East Hamilton will square off against Cleveland at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bradley Central, they will take on Ooltewah at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
