Xavier Prep moved up to 930 from 1,018 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Freelance. The Saints climbed the ranks as a result of topping Twentynine Palms 25-12.
Mission Prep and Rio Hondo Prep played the closest game in the league this week, with Mission Prep eventually emerging with a 24-21 victory. Patrick Laird ran for 229 yards in the win.
Xavier Prep's dynamic duo of Rex Rover and Daniel Stabile proved to be unstoppable against the Wildcats, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Rover threw for 219 yards and 3 touchdowns and Stabile had 136 yards receiving. Jake Ashton helped Xavier Prep's passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 69 yards.
Bob Molyet's team's dynamic duo of Rover and Stabile proved tough for Twentynine Palms to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.
Laird was the most successful running back in the league this week. Teammate Jack Balentine added to the ground attack by rushing for 18 yards.
Laird was a force in the backfield as the Royals defeated the Kares.
Rover put up the best numbers in passing as the Saints defeated Ernest Martinez's team.
He was 15-18 with 0 interceptions.
Stabile was the best wideout in Freelance this week as Xavier Prep beat the Wildcats.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Saints' Rover and Stabile have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-8 quarterback Rover has thrown for 328 yards this season, while Stabile has 13 catches for 161 yards. Laird from Mission Prep leads the league in rushing with 334 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Indian Springs takes on Albert Einstein Academy. At the moment, the COYOTES are in fifth, while the Rockets are in seventh.
Albert Einstein Academy lost to Frazier Mountain 82-22 last week, the largest margin of any game.
