Volleyball Recap: South Granville Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact South Granville can now relate to. They came up short against the Cedar Ridge Fighting Red Wolves on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Fighting Red Wolves this season, with their most recent loss being a 3-0 defeat two weeks ago.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-16, 25-8.

Kaytlyn Dickerson paced South Granville's offense, picking up five kills. Dickerson got some help from Larah Preddy and her six assists. Dickerson was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Sydnee Tapper went supernova For Cedar Ridge., getting 15 digs and three aces. Tapper has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last four times she's played. Addilyn Jackson also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

South Granville dropped their record down to 8-17 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Cedar Ridge, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 23-1.

South Granville does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Cedar Ridge, they have already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Western Alamance on the 23rd.
