Volleyball Recap: Rangely Takes a Loss

Rangely managed to slip by Vail Christian the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Panthers came up short against the Saints on Friday, falling 3-0. The Panthers just can't catch a break and have now endured five losses in a row.

Rangely took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-7, 25-14, 25-15.

Despite the defeat, Rangely saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Taylor Fouch had 13 digs. Teagan Behunin also deserves some recognition as she had her first blocks of the season.

Among those leading the charge was Sam Bates, who had 15 digs and two assists. She is on a roll when it comes to digs, as she's now had 14 or more in each of the last three games she's played.

Rangely's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Vail Christian, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 11-2.

Rangely has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 defeat against Meeker on the 30th. As for Vail Christian, they will be taking part in a tournament against Limon at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
