Softball Game Recap: Eastern Tech Mavericks vs. Sparrows Point Pointers

If Eastern Tech was feeling good fresh off their 21-7 takedown of Dundalk on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mavericks wound up with the same score they had in their last game (21-7), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. They were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Pointers earlier this season, when they won 16-11.

Eastern Tech has also been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-11 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Sparrows Point, their record is now 10-4.

Coming up, Eastern Tech will take on Carver A&T at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Wildcats have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.22 runs per game on average), something the Mavericks will no doubt try to take advantage of. Sparrows Point has already played their next game (against Towson), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
