Softball Recap: Mt. Lebanon Blue Devils vs. Canon-McMillan Big Macs
Mt. Lebanon kicked off their season on the road on Thursday and hit a couple of potholes. They suffered a rough 11-1 defeat at the hands of the Canon-McMillan Big Macs. Mt. Lebanon was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Canon-McMillan apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2023.
For Canon-McMillan's part, the team relied heavily on Olivia Ford, who went 4-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. The team also got some help courtesy of Hailey Swope, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two RBI and a double.
Canon-McMillan's victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 1-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mt. Lebanon will take on Butler at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Canon-McMillan, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Hempfield Area at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
