Baseball Game Preview: Hillcrest Knights vs. Bonneville Bees

For the second straight game, Hillcrest will face off against Bonneville. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bees at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Hillcrest has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the matchup with three straight defeats, while Bonneville will come in with three straight wins.

On Thursday, Hillcrest came up short against Bonneville and fell 10-5.

Hillcrest got a good showing from Teagan Gray, who tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. What's more, Gray gave up only one walk, the fewest he's had since back in March.

On the hitting side, Bowen Croft was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael McCarty, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Bonneville pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.4 runs on average over those games. As for Hillcrest, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
