Preview: New Berlin Eisenhower Lions vs. Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights

The New Berlin Eisenhower Lions will head out on the road to challenge the Milwaukee Lutheran Red Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: New Berlin Eisenhower has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Milwaukee Lutheran will arrive with four straight wins.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 79-49, which was the final score in New Berlin Eisenhower's tilt against New Berlin West on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Milwaukee Lutheran blew past Shorewood, posting a 82-50 victory on the road. Given Milwaukee Lutheran's advantage in MaxPreps' Wisconsin basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Shorewood is ranked 374th), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Milwaukee Lutheran can attribute much of their success to Isaiah Allen, who scored 17 points along with five assists and five rebounds, and Makhai Jewell, who scored 22 points along with three steals. Jewell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Xavier Allen, who scored 13 points along with five assists and three steals.

New Berlin Eisenhower has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-12 record this season. As for Milwaukee Lutheran, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season.

New Berlin Eisenhower came up short against Milwaukee Lutheran in their previous meeting back in February of 2019, falling 95-88. Can New Berlin Eisenhower avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
