Baseball Recap: Russell's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

Russell came out on top against Larned on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run second inning. The Broncos took their match against the Indians 7-4. This was a revenge game for the Broncos: when they faced off against the Indians on Tuesday, they had to take a 8-6 loss.

Russell's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Griffin, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The Broncos are undefeated when Griffin posts two or more runs, but 7-10 otherwise. Sam Thielen was another, earning two RBI and one run.

The win snapped Russell's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 14-10 record. As for Larned, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Russell will square off against Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Larned, they will head out to face off against Nickerson on Friday.
