Baseball Recap: Eastside Catholic Wins Going Away Against Seattle Prep

Eastside Catholic won the last time they faced Seattle Prep and things went their way on Monday too. Eastside Catholic was the clear victor by a 7-1 margin over Seattle Prep. The result was nothing new for the Crusaders, who have now won three matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Tristan Weigum spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits and racked up six Ks. Eastside Catholic is undefeated when Weigum allowstwo or fewer earned runs, but 1-3 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Ryan Long was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was River Shute, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.

Eastside Catholic now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Seattle Prep, their defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.

Eastside Catholic will have a chance to go back-to-back against Seattle Prep: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
