Basketball Recap: Collinsville Takes a Loss

Collinsville was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They had to suffer through a 66-29 loss at the hands of the O'Fallon Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Kahoks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 218th, while the Panthers are ranked 26th).

Leading O'Fallon to victory were Josie Christopher and Haeli Tart. Christopher dropped a double-double with 15 points and 11 steals, while Tart went 6-for-11 to rack up 13 points and four steals. What's more, Christopher also posted a 86% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in December of 2023. Another player making a difference was Claire Weinhoeft, who posted 11 points.

Collinsville's defeat dropped their record down to 12-16. As for O'Fallon, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 14 games, which provided a nice bump to their 20-9 record this season.

Collinsville didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 67-27 loss against Alton on the 13th. As for O'Fallon, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 56-41 win against Highland on the 12th.
