Softball Game Preview: Pace Patriots vs. Parrish Community Bulls

The Pace Patriots will face off against the Parrish Community Bulls at 12:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Pace comes in on eight and Parrish Community on five.

Pace is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Navarre a 4-0 shutout. Give the Patriots' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

The result came thanks to Hannah DeMarcus's shutout, as she gave up just a hit and racked up nine Ks. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 24 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Pace saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abby McLean, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double. Another was Kamryn Pierce, who went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Meanwhile, it was close, but on Friday Parrish Community sidestepped Mitchell for a 4-3 victory. That's two games straight that the Bulls have won by just one run.

Emmaline Van Beck spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on nine hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Mackenzie Pandelo was excellent, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Jersie Rohde was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base.

Pace pushed their record up to 23-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.2 runs on average over those games. As for Parrish Community, their win bumped their record up to 26-3.
