Volleyball Recap: Chaparral Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Chaparral lost against Valencia back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Lobos fell 3-1 to the Jaguars.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-10, 25-23, 25-27, 25-20.

Yesenia Chavira paced Chaparral's offense, picking up 14 kills. Chavira got some help from Yoselin Herrera and her ten assists. Chavira was also a major player on defense: she and Brisa Alcantar shared the team lead in blocks, finishing with three each.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Valencia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Monique Chavez, who had 19 digs and five assists. That's the most assists Chavez has posted since back in September. Angie Morales was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Chaparral's loss dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Valencia, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.

Chaparral didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 defeat against Tularosa on the 14th. As for Valencia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against St. Pius X on the 14th.
