Baseball Game Preview: Evansville North Huskies vs. Castle Knights

Evansville North hasn't had much luck against Castle recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Huskies will be playing in front of their home fans against the Knights at 4:30 p.m. Evansville North will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.

On Monday, Evansville North needed a bit of extra time to put away North Posey. They had just enough and edged out the Vikings 11-10.

AJ Baggett was incredible, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in May of 2024. Gideon Rice was another key player, scoring three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Meanwhile, Castle got themselves on the board against Terre Haute North Vigo on Saturday, but Terre Haute North Vigo never followed suit. They were the clear victors by an 8-0 margin over the Patriots. That eight run margin sets a new team best for the Knights this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Castle and bumps their season record up to 3-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 0 runs in those games. As for Evansville North, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season.
