Basketball Game Preview: Hatton/Northwood Thunder vs. New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets

The Hatton/Northwood Thunder will head out on the road to square off against the New Rockford-Sheyenne Rockets at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hatton/Northwood knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully New Rockford-Sheyenne likes a good challenge.

Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Hatton/Northwood beat Richland 55-50.

Meanwhile, New Rockford-Sheyenne was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Monday as they fell 57-53 to Griggs County Central/Midkota. The Rockets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

New Rockford-Sheyenne's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Hatton/Northwood, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 15-4.

Hatton/Northwood came up short against New Rockford-Sheyenne in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 50-41. Can Hatton/Northwood avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
