            Football Recap: Lamar Texans vs. Heights Bulldogs        
        
		
        
        
            Lamar had won three straight at home, but  on Friday they bumped up to 5-3 to make it four. They claimed a resounding  43-10 victory over the Heights Bulldogs. The Texans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by 31  points or more this season.
 Jayden Robins had an outrageously good game as he rushed for 85 yards and one  touchdown on only eight carries, and also threw for 110 yards and a pair of  TDs on only ten passes. His passing game has become a key predictor of Lamar's success: the team is undefeated when his passer rating is 100 or higher, but only 1-3 otherwise. Another player making a difference was  Kaze Bryant, who rushed for 82 yards and one  score on only eight carries.

 They were just one part of a punishing run game: Lamar was unstoppable on the ground and  finished the game with 326  rushing yards. That's the most  rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
 Another reason for the win was Lamar's imposing  defense, which managed to get into the backfield for five sacks. Heights' QB  won't forget  Martin Davis-Wheatfall anytime soon given he sacked him 2.5 times. Davis-Wheatfall is  on a roll when it comes to  sacks, as he's  now  posted  at least one in each of the last three games he's  played.
As for Heights, their  loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 3-4. Having soared to a lofty 51  points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
 Despite the loss, Heights still got an impressive performance from   Kobe Miles, who threw for 224 yards and one  TD, and also rushed for 31 yards. A healthy portion of  Miles' aerial production (127 yards to be exact)  went to  Kaden Cole, who also brought in a  receiving touchdown.
 Coincidentally, Lamar and Heights will both be playing Bellaire the next time they take the field. The Bulldogs will  host the Cardinals at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday, while the Texans will head out to face them  at 12:00  p.m.  on November 1.
