Basketball Recap: Tascosa Skates Past Lubbock with Ease

Tascosa had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They breezed by the Lubbock Westerners to the tune of 61-26. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 115th, while the Westerners are ranked 786th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tascosa pushed their record up to 17-7 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for Lubbock, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-15.

Coincidentally, Tascosa and Lubbock will both be playing Monterey the next time they take the court. Lubbock will host Monterey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Tascosa will head out to face them at 7:30 p.m. on January 21st.
