Basketball Game Preview: South Pasadena Tigers vs. La Canada Spartans

The South Pasadena Tigers will face off against the La Canada Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in South Pasadena's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five contests.

Last Monday, South Pasadena earned a 60-49 victory over La Canada. The win was all the more spectacular given the Tigers' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 237th, while the Spartans are ranked 67th).

South Pasadena got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jack Madison out in front who went 8 for 12 on his way to 18 points and eight rebounds. Madison's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Oni Balogun was another key player, going 5 of 11 en route to 15 points and seven boards.

La Canada has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 18-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.5 points per game. As for South Pasadena, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
