Basketball Recap: Gilman City's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

It was a good run, but Gilman City unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell to the Winston Red Birds 52-46. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hawks this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 59-42 back in December of 2024.

Gilman City's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5. As for Winston, they have been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gilman City will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Mercer at 7:30 p.m. on February 18th. Winston has already played their next contest (against Hardin-Central), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
