Baseball Recap: Marshfield's Win Ends Ten-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Marshfield hadn't done well against Whitman-Hanson Regional recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Rams sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rams have posted since April 4th.

Marshfield's win ended a ten-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-12. As for Whitman-Hanson Regional, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-5.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Marshfield will challenge rival Silver Lake Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Whitman-Hanson Regional is set to take on their familiar foe Hingham at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Panthers 2.7, the Harbormen 3.5) so any runs scored will be well earned.
