Powell County's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Montgomery County Indians. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Indians recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Lacy Dicken spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up nine Ks.

On the hitting side, Drew Miller was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Carter, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Powell County's victory bumped their record up to 10-16. As for Montgomery County, their loss dropped their record down to 17-11.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Powell County will square off against Fleming County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Montgomery County, they will face off against Wolfe County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The Indians' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.4 runs per game this season.
