Suwannee extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to six on Friday, dropping them down to 0-4. They were five points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 36-31 heartbreaker at the hands of the Godby Cougars. On the bright side, the 31- point performance marked the Bulldogs' highest-scoring game to date.

Thomas Sikes threw for 139 yards and one touchdown. Ty Moses was his top target, picking up 77 receiving yards and one TD. On the ground, Travon Fead rushed for 137 yards and one score.

Godby's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-3. They haven't had any issues with Suwannee recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Landon Dougherty produced another solid effort throwing for 365 yards and a pair of touchdowns while picking up 16.6 yards per attempt, and also punching in three scores on the ground. 104 of Dougherty's passing yards were hauled in by Tylan Vickers, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Suwannee has already played their next matchup, a 34-6 victory against Hamilton County on the 19th. As for Godby, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 35-17 win against Chiles on the 19th.
