Football Recap: Mishawaka Marian Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Mishawaka Marian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They came out on top against the Culver Academies Eagles by a score of 21-14 on Friday. The Knights pushed the score to 21-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Eagles cut but never quite recovered from.

Mishawaka Marian can attribute much of their success to Lucas Marr, who rushed for 47 yards and two TDs. Those 47 rushing yards gave Marr a new career-high.

Mishawaka Marian pushed their record up to 1-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.8 points on average over those games. As for Culver Academies, their loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Mishawaka Marian will be playing at home against South Bend Adams at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. This will be the Knights' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Culver Academies, they will head out on the road to face off against Knox at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
