Basketball Recap: Community Christian Warriors vs. Fellowship Academy Mustangs
Community Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 78-16 loss at the hands of the Fellowship Academy Mustangs. The Warriors lost against the Mustangs in their previous head to head back in February of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 36-28 score last time.
Fellowship Academy was led to victory by Rhyia Ray and Libby Hamblin. Ray dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten steals, while Hamblin went 11 of 18 on her way to 23 points and eight boards. Hamblin is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last nine games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Ross, who posted nine points.
Community Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Fellowship Academy, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
Community Christian won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Forestburg at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Fellowship Academy, they and Prestonwood Christian North will face off at 1:00 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played.
